About The PRINCIPAL
Alexandra Darraby, Super Lawyer,™ is a transactional lawyer and an experienced litigator. A former law professor, she authors the legal treatise, DARRABY ON ART LAW. Alexandra learned first hand client needs and the trade as a former gallerist, director, and curator. A graduate of Boalt Hall School of Law at Berkeley, Alexandra Darraby trained at a major national law firm in litigation, corporate law, tax and non-profit strategic planning. She has represented and consulted on corporate, copyright and constitutional matters in state, federal and appellate courts, achieving successful awards of attorneys’ fees and costs on behalf of her clients.
Alexandra’s model agreements are used in various art sectors and serve as benchmarks in the field. The 360° client base of the Art Law Firm® informs a honed skill set that anticipates deal points, negotiates results, and resolves disputes. Alexandra, a court-appointed expert, is also an Arbitrator on the national roster of the American Arbitration Association, a platform that implements client advocacy in a context of fair and forward-going outcomes.
Her articles and features are published in more than 70 design, law, architecture and art journals. She is an invited and keynote speaker for museums, arts organizations and legal societies around the globe.
